Post-processing info: some digital matte painting, 3D modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering of the rocky 2009. Final touch-ups in good ole Photoshop.
The hi-res - A4 size - 2009 rocks took about eight hours to render -at night time while sleeping :) The 2009 type was made in Illustrator, beveled and extruded in 3ds Max. The composite consist of matte painted background objects with different custom brushes. Some external images were used to complete the composition I had in mind for some time. Post-processing altogether took me about two hours to complete. The usual pp tricks were used to enhance overall contrast, sharpening and color enhancements.

This is a preview of the 3D features of compiz fusion 3D desktop, working on linux.
Properly configured, a right click in the corner of the screen will zoom out and display the desktops. A double click will bring you back to the desktop selected.
Mandriva 2008.1 with the Compiz-Fusion 3D desktop running on an ASUS eeePC 701 sub-laptop. Just install Mandriva from a USB CD/DVD drive and this all works out of the box. I have enabled water effects to get the raindrops but the windscreen wiper doesn't seem to work. As you can see the transparency on the rotated cube works fine. I'm trying to come up with a reason why this is important to install other than just to say "Hey! Look what I can do!" (reason enough on its own)
