While trying to reinstall Windows, it kept getting an error saying a file didn't exist. In order to continue through the install, we needed to hit "Escape." Rather than sitting there hitting ESC over and over, Clint set up this cat figurine to do it for him. And thus we got the "escaping cat".
And no, this Windows install didn't pan out. But we still wanted to see what would happen, having come this far. We even tried Windows 7 briefly, but eventually realized that there were going to be major problems unless we got rid of the ATI video card I'd had since 2003 or so. Things got much better then.
