Lyra: You don't know who you are.
You don't know what you are.
You don't know yourself.
I know exactly how it feels. I've been there.
But search deep in yourself. You know the answer, and you've always done.
You just need to learn it. Learn yourself to know.
I know the answer.

KWAG and the University of Bristol are working in partnership on a day organised as part of the Know your Bristol series of events to encourage pride and understanding of local community heritage. Through the generosity of John Hardy the doors of Kings Weston House will be open on Saturday June 16th between 10am and 4pm for everyone to come along and share their memories, photos and mementos and help contribute to the fascinating story. The event has been staged to coincide with the weekend of the 300th anniversary of the commencement of Kings Weston House ? certainly a date to celebrate!
An exhibition on the history of the estate will be on show and short history tours of the gardens will be given throughout the day. Researchers from the University will be on hand to record your memories and there will be a demonstration of some archaeology survey techniques in the grounds during the morning. There should be plenty to see, experts will be available to answer your questions, and the café will be open throughout the day.
Whether you have lived close to the park all your life, or just want to come along to peek inside KWAG and the University of Bristol hope that you will accept an invitation to attend. Help Celebrate Kings Weston?s Tercentenary and learn more about the incredible history behind one of Bristol's hidden gems.
