At college we're doing a little experiment with trying to recreate portraits from previous decades, and a girl in my class suggested I do James Dean, so here is the result next to the original photo.
I know it's hard to tell who is who so to clarify I'm the one on the left haha.

Day 37 of 365+1 - Theme for the day: Bounce.
It's very rare I'll post something I've only just tried for the first time, but I am none the less going to do just that. I shouldn't have tried this today, not enough time - for some reason it's not a good idea having a bass speaker going full tilt whilst son is asleep immediately above the room (hmmm... you'd thought I'd have learned from yesterday's, would't you!)
Oh well. Long day essay writing, I've been wanting to try this for some time but keep forgetting to get some black material (I prefer low key for high speed photography) so I thought I'd try it on white. Needed a bit more 'clean up' than I'd have liked due to low flash power on no. 3 flash :(

So I have had this polaroid film loupe with backlight for the longest time and I played with it a few times. Never really took it seriously since I had a film scanner and that kind of lets me see my film, and it's pretty awesome. The longer I use this though the more I can see the appeal of actually looking at film. It's fun.
Strobist info: 1 speedlight 430EX (@1/4 power) bounced up. And then 1 shot with ambient light to expose for the lamp that's lighting up the film.
Camera: Canon 5D mark II with 100mm macro (@F.5)

Alfie playing in the snow and loving it, saying that everybody else on the Park seemed to be as well.
I'm finally getting to grips with the new camera and really missing the sports / action side of Photography, there were no excuses today so NO Landscapes just a few hundred action ones of our wonderful Jack Russell pet 'Alfie'.
