I picked a little bit of moss from the local park in Catford in South East London.
I soaked it in tap water and put a drop on a slide, and a coverslip on top.
This is what I got.
This is composed of 6 images taken with the 40x objective.
(for the sake of accuracy - these come from more than six photos. I 'cloned' creatures from additional pics into patches of empty water. But they are all from the same little drop of water on the slide, and at the same magnification)
The total field of view is probably about 400microns high and 450 microns wide.
I think there are algae, diatoms, protozoa, bacteria...
But I don't know much about this small stuff, really. | MaisMeel posted a photo:

The main entrance onto the RAAF base in 1962 contained offices for the service police and cells for the hardened criminals known as RAAF shellbacks. This entrance was also used to access the civilian terminal at that time. This entrance has since been discontinued and garden beds planted across the front. | whoolita posted a photo:
