XP9.10 (Apeture Edition)

So I realized that in my last desktop, the themes were not the same, and that was really the point of the desktop in the first place. So I matched the themes, and I also got a dual monitor wallpaper. it was a pain to crop the Birthday cake in the Linux Portion. These are NOT running side by side, hell I don't even have dual screens. I just GIMP'ed them together in harmony :)

And this Desktop goes to..
After I found the wallpaper, I knew that I had to make this desktop for someone(in this case, some people) and those people are "The Group" no real names, but Vencdrig, Arithine and Caleb, Caleb who beat portal from start to finish in 35 minutes. All of the people listed have beat portal but I haven't even tried to play it. That shows how good I am with these games ><

And XP is on the left, Ubuntu is on the right

A update to my SexyFox 9.10 Desktop. Got a new GTK+ theme and customized it a little bit. Played around more with Compiz Fusion. This desktop is just purely a show and tell of the progress I have made in Ubuntu. Of course most of the progress is far from the UI. Been using the Terminal to install things, its something that I have gotten used to, since I have never been a terminal guy. Ubuntu kind of requires you to use it, but I am happy to use it, since it is a very essential thing about it. I have a lot to learn in Ubuntu like compiling software, learning conky scripts, and millions of other things that you can do. Its a big challege. Its something that I am willing to take head on, plus Linux knowledge looks good on a resume.

Switching programs

This is Ubuntu 9.10 with Compiz enabled. There's all kinds of eye candy if you choose to enable it. Some of it, like the bursting flames and smoke when you close a window, is a little over the top, but it's very easy to configure what effects you want.

Desktop wall

Screenshot showing my six different workplaces. I'm running Ubuntu 9.04, with Compiz enabled. The desktop size is 3x2.

Compiz plugins enabled:

* Desktop Wall
* Expo (it's on for this screenshot)
* Wallpaper (using 4 different images as the background for 6 workplaces

The first few workplaces each have a specific role (check the photo notes). Others are used as needed.
