rose ring tutorial photo 6 of 9

This part goes buy super fast!

Just twist the wires around and around and around until you get the size and look you want.

You can spend a little or a lot of time wrapping the wire.

If you are picky (like me), you might want to spend more time, but if you are making a bunch of these all at once you can fly through each one in minutes! They will always come out looking cute as a button <3

All I did was unwrap the wires until I loosened all that I wanted to rework.

Don't worry about the kinks too much, because they give the ring a petal look when completed.

If you really just do not want any kinks, just go really slow when unraveling, and use your fingers to slowly pull the wire from the ring out toward the end.

This will hurt your fingers if you do it a lot, so be careful. There are some tools available that can help.

If for some reason you do not like the way the wire is laying, that's OK! It's easy to change.

Here I got distracted and did not watch what I was doing.

I didn't like how loose it got.

I want to share the way I made these, so everyone can enjoy the experience.

It's quick and easy!

Instant gratification!!

Plus, it's hard to mess this up, and easy to fix.

Push down the wire with your thumb.

The wire will now stay in place. At this point you can take off the ring to check the size.

I put the ring back on the tube to make it easier to work with.

Wrap wire around tube 3 times.

Hold your fingers on the wire tight, because it will loosen easily.

Find a tube, marker or something that is the same size as your finger. Test it by sliding a ring of the same size over the tube.

Some people choose one that is a bit larger, depending on the way they wrap the ring.

I bought this wire at Michael's.

It is a 20 gauge copper wire. It has a red coating, but I don't know what it is made of. I have been wearing one of these rings for a few days, and my finger has not changed color yet. So, that is a good thing!!

Bend wires 90 degrees up at what will become the top of the ring. (the rose)

Then twist.

Remember:
Always twist in the same way.
Twist in the way that is comfortable to you.

I usually stop the rose when I start running out of wire, but you can stop and cut it with wire cutters at a certain size that you want.

With about an inch or less left of each end, use round nose tipped pliers to create a hook. This may need to be cut and redone at a different length.

Just make sure to put the wires under the rose and the band. I use the hook to attach any where that will not show or scratch the person that will be wearing it.

I use flat nose pliers covered in fabric to flatten the rose, if I want to change the shape. This also helps flatten the ends up and under the rose, if needed.

TA-DAH!!
You win!!

'sup nutrition?

Tonight's dinner, tomorrow's lunch. In the past week I had watched this Minimalist Video and read this post at Oh She Glows.

Hence the chickpeas/greens/tomato combo. I made this SPICY and mixed in some quinoa and sweet potato for good measure.

quickness and ease are key

What could be an easier (and more satisfying) dinner than my mother's aforementioned standby? Cook shells and cheese per directions, then add in some sautéed beef with minced onions, then dump in whatever kind of tomato sauce you like. (Today required a pre-bottled Tomato Basil over the typical homemade marinara.)
