"Everything in my life has had these crazy 'RIOT!' scribbles all over it for the past two years," says smaller-than-average yet larger-than-life Paramore firebrand Hayley Williams, referring to her band's rampantly successful sophomore effort. "I'm ready to move on. I think we got everything we possibly could out of that record, and I'm psyched to see where we go next." Williams and guitarist Josh Farro took a much-needed rest after The Final Riot! Tour ended in September before beginning to write their third full-length for Fueled By Ramen. While it's too early for details (Williams says pre-production might last a month or so into 2009), the Tennessee quartet know they won't be traveling far to record. "We're gonna do it at home in Nashville," says Williams, hoping the familiarity will yield a more "raw" sound. "There are lots of sides to our band and I'd like to show those extremes more," she says. "When you listen to a record like We Are The Only Friends We Have by Piebald, that feels like a bunch of friends making rock music, and that's what I'd like. I want you to feel each track breathe with its own life." [TJK]
